The Spring Creek Matanzas School’s purpose is to provide a rigorous core academic program based upon the California state standards and district standards. In addition, our students’ educational experiences will be enriched by both technology and the fine arts. Their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development will reflect a well-rounded education of the 21st century.

The curriculum at the Spring Creek Matanzas School has been developed to provide expanded opportunities for students. They will first attend the primary school (Spring Creek) where a differentiated curriculum will specifically meet the needs of the four/five through eight year olds. In addition, all students at Spring Creek have access to the computer lab, giving them an earlier opportunity to begin develop technology skills. Upon moving to the intermediate school (Matanzas), students and their families will experience greater choices and opportunities for inquiry and creativity, as they participate in an enhanced technology program in which each grade level accesses a cart of MacBooks.

At Matanzas, students regularly collaborate across grade levels in community classes. Multiple opportunities to develop skills and explore interests are provided before, during, and after school. The Matanzas community is especially proud of the drama program, a PTA supported program in which all students participate in a class play.
