Every December Thompson Avenue in Alameda, CA, turns into Christmas Tree Lane. Thousands of local visitors come to stroll the lane and see the decorations. Each one of the 50 houses on our block has something to offer, from painted wood cutouts of your favorite animated characters to a full-blown light show set to holiday music. The evergreen trees that line our street's median are strung with brilliant lights to add to the festive feel. Santa is there every night (weather permitting) to take pictures with the children and hear their wish lists. The City of Berkeley Winter Wonderland is thrilled to welcome you to Santa's Workshop! Join us for a delicious pancake breakfast with all the fixings. During breakfast, you have a meet-and-greet photo opportunity with Santa and his North Pole Friends!

Each participant must pre-register for one of our two serving times. Our first serving time will be at 8:30 am and our second serving time will be at 9:45 am. Each of our 10 tables sit six participants each - if you do not have a party of six you will be seated with other participants.

Light Up the Season, the annual downtown Hayward winter-time celebration and lighting ceremony is returning to the City Hall rotunda and plaza the afternoon and evening of Saturday, Dec. 2, with some new attractions.

After two-years of virtual and scaled-back Light Up the Season programs due to COVID-19, the City of Hayward reintroduced the event in 2022 with the goal of creating a time and place for Hayward residents to come together in a spirit of inclusion, and to share and celebrate winter-time traditions of our diverse communities. How do you celebrate Twin Luminaries, Mawlid al-Nabi, Chalica, Bodhi Day, Las Posadas, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Lohri, Pongal, or other occasions that have the common them of remember there is light even during the season of long nights?

This year, the event will again feature performances and offerings by community organizations, school groups and local businesses. New additions to this free, family-oriented event include an artificial ice-skating rink coupled with a skating performance, opportunities for community members to skate, and skates to borrow. The Oakland Roots professional soccer club will run a soccer skill and fun zone. The Bay Philharmonic will cap off the performances with a sing-along.

During the event, the City will also continue its tradition of holding a lighting of a seasonal tree and other decorations just after sundown at approximately 5 p.m. Curbie, the Hayward Public Library bookmobile, will also be in attendance.

Valley Dance Theatre brings full-length and repertory classical ballet and contemporary dance productions to the San Francisco East Bay. Every December, the Company presents several full-length performances of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker. A second major production is staged each season in late Spring. As the resident ballet company, all performances are held at the Bankhead Theater and are accompanied by the Valley Dance Theatre Pit Orchestra. Costumes and sets are created by professional, award-winning designers. Founded in Livermore, in 1980, Valley Dance Theatre is a licensed, nonprofit Ballet Company which also operates an affiliated school of dance, offering ballet classes for ages 3 years through adult and boys’ classes.

In partnership with City of Brentwood, the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce is excited to host the 41st Annual Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting

This year’s event will feature the Mount Diablo Elementary School second graders singing Christmas carols, plus the Clayton Valley Charter Marching Band and Color Guard, and cider/donut holes served by the Clayton Community Church. Santa will make an appearance to light the Christmas tree and take photos with the kids.

Ice at the Veranda is returning this winter and we look forward to welcoming you back to skate! Come glide on the ice Friday, November 3, 2023 through Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Over 7000 led lights synchronized to musical sequences using Xlights software and Falcon controllers. See several lighted prop and singing faces. Come listen to the music with outdoor speakers or tune in to 95.1 FM to listen in your car. Show runs nightly from 6pm to 9pm.

Please park at the Concord Plaza Hotel, Santa Arrives via the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Truck (weather permitting) at 10:30 AM for a meet and greet. Photos with Santa will start at 11AM in the Concord Plaza Hotel Atrium. The event is free.
Contra Costa County Public Works’ Airports Division presents "Santa's Jolly Landing: Christmas Magic Takes Flight at Buchanan Field". This heartwarming event hosted at the Concord Plaza Hotel is sure to ignite the holiday spirit and bring the magic of Christmas alive. Children and families can capture the joy of the season by taking photos with Santa, getting a chance to win fantastic raffle prizes and help those in need through the spirit of giving as all proceeds will benefit the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. Make a new tradition and join Downtown Martinez to Catch the Holiday Spirit and spend a relaxing afternoon supporting and discovering your favorite downtown Martinez small businesses.

The City of Oakley is hosting its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday, November 30th, starting at 5pm. Join us at Civic Center Plaza, 3231 Main Street as we kick off the holiday season with this family-friendly event. Admission and parking are FREE and the event will take place rain or shine.
Civic Center Plaza will be adorned with lights and Christmas decorations. There will be free cookies and cocoa, arts & crafts for the children, live entertainment and more. Santa Claus will also be making a special visit!
Entertainment for the night will include performances by local organizations. We will gather around the live Christmas tree near the Veteran’s Memorial to watch the lights turn on at approximately 6:45pm.

Rain or shine, the Orinda Parks and Rec's Winterfest event will be Saturday, December 2 in the Orinda Community Center, located at 28 Orinda Way. This event is free and open to the entire community.

Winterfest is held in conjunction with the community’s second Orinda Gingerbread House Making Contest, created and sponsored by the Orinda/Tabor Sister City Foundation. The event and viewing of the gingerbread house contest entries will begin at 5:30 PM. Winners of the Gingerbread House Contest will be announced at approximately 6 PM. The 2023 Pittsburg Holiday Parade will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 am in Old Town Pittsburg.

The annual Holiday Parade will once again feature Peppermint Playland, various dignitaries and elected officials from the City of Pittsburg and our local community.

Downtown Pleasant Hill will shine bright on December 2, 2023, as the City celebrates the annual Light Up the Night event.



This fun family event commemorates the start of the holiday season with several fun activities, including music, dancing, crafts, train rides, Christmas tree lighting, visits with Santa, hot chocolate, and more.



Light Up the Night will occur from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on December 2 on Crescent Drive in downtown Pleasant Hill.

A highlight of the holiday season is always the dramatic lighting of the City Center tree. This year’s holiday launch event comes at 6pm on December 1, with holiday music from the Monte Vista High School Band, SideNote a cappella singers, the story of The Nutcracker by Diablo Ballet, and Santa’s arrival in his red convertible T-Bird. After the performances, enjoy visits with Santa and roaming entertainers like jugglers and stilt walkers.

This year, the rink is 15% larger than the previous year, ensuring more space for you to glide with joy. Additionally, the platform has tripled in size, providing an even more spacious and comfortable environment for skaters of all levels.

But that's not all! We're excited to introduce new additions to enhance your experience. Enjoy the luxury of private cabanas and cozy fire pits, creating an inviting atmosphere for you and your loved ones to savor every moment on the ice.

Join the City of San Ramon for the return of its Annual Community Tree Lighting Ceremony! This free family-friendly event will feature holiday-themed crafts, tasty treats, festive entertainment, and fun photo opportunities in and around City Hall (7000 Bollinger Canyon Road). The lighting of the Holiday Tree will take place following a short ceremony in the Central Park Meadow at 5:30pm.

Residents are encouraged to donate to the City of San Ramon's Toys for Tots holiday toy drive, by bringing new, unwrapped gifts for ages 0–18.

There will be more than 55 artisans selling handmade crafts including jewelry, ceramics, specialty foods, wreaths, ornaments, bath and body products and more! Rabbi Yosef Langer, Executive Director, Chabad of S.F., and local promoter Billy Cohen have established the Bill Graham Menorah Project in San Francisco to produce and support the annual Chanukah Festival of Lights in Union Square. The eight day event draws many civic and community leaders and variety of artists from the Bay Area music community. Celebrities from Carlos Santana to George Zimmer have participated in lighting the Menorah. Bill Graham Menorah Day Festival concerts have included a wide variety of performers including; Matisyahu, Perry Farrell, Merl Saunders, Peter Albin, the Moshav Band from Israel and Rebbe Soul, performing a mixture of traditional and contemporary music.

The annual Civic Center Plaza Tree Lighting event returns December 6, 4-7pm! Add this fun, free, family-friendly event to your holiday calendar; featuring festive performances led by Boxcar Theatre’s Artistic Director Nick A. Olivero, the night’s lineup includes The Tap Dancing Christmas Trees, The Topman All Stars, magician Josh Farenbaugh, singer Doris Bumpus, and appearances by Christmas VIPs and the man-of-the-hour: Santa! Let’s Glow SF 2023 will kick off on December 1, 2023 at 6:30 PM, at the foot of Market Street facing the Ferry Building, with a Countdown Kickoff Ceremony that is FREE and open to the public. Downtown SF Partnership will be joined by the City of San Francisco, A3 Visual, Let’s Glow SF artists and more to countdown the start of the holiday season.

Let’s Glow SF, the country’s largest holiday projection event, will return to downtown San Francisco this holiday season, from December 1st through 10th. The FREE outdoor holiday event will use high-tech Panasonic projectors and lasers to project large-scale art concepts across the facade of five iconic SF buildings from 5-10 PM nightly, including the Ferry Building for the first time ever. The Salesforce Tower will also showcase Let’s Glow SF artwork on the LED panel atop the building, visible throughout the Bay Area.

Let’s Glow SF is hosted by The Downtown SF Partnership (DSFP), the community benefit district that oversees 43 blocks across San Francisco’s Financial District and Jackson Square Historic District, and is organized by A3 Visual. The signature event is part of citywide efforts to activate downtown’s public realm and increase programming as a form of placemaking across the city, and is partially funded through an economic recovery grant from the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development and Office of Mayor London N. Breed.

Starting at 6:00pm, Santa will be going around San Bruno to wish everyone a happy start to the Winter Holiday season with the help of the San Bruno Recreation, Fire, and Police Departments.

The annual, month-long display of holiday lights on Eucalyptus Avenue is organized by its residents.

Inspired by the science of light, IlluminOdyssey is an immersive, interactive installation that will mesmerize kids and adults of all ages*. CuriOdyssey’s four-level Redwood Hall will transform into a glowing forest of science—light your way through a maze of luminous botanical geometry, play with rainbow refraction and swirling projections, paint with light on phosphorescent surfaces, and dance with your shadow. Explore the physical properties of light, such as photoluminescence, color, additive light mixing, waves, fluorescence, fluid dynamics, subtractive color mixing, and refraction.

Jumper & Obstacle Course
The jumper is recommended for those ages 1-5 years, and the obstacle course 5-15 years. The line may close as early as 6:15pm to ensure the last participants be completed by 7:00pm.

Snow
Yes, we will have real snow at this event! We highly recommend wearing waterproof shoes (rainboots, snow boots, etc.) as it can get very wet and cold.

Our annual Santa Comes to Town event will be taking place on Saturday, December 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center at 901 Civic Campus Way. Santa will arrive by fire truck at 10:00am and there will be additional free S.T.E.M activities. Admission is FREE. Ride the Free South City Shuttle to the event. Shuttle pickup will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and pickup/drop-off of passengers will take place in 15-minute increments.

The Academy of Classical Ballet is excited to present a unique performance that celebrates the beautiful season of winter, as well as the holiday spirit. Follow our heroine, Beatrice, as she departs on an adventure through the snow into an enchanted forest.

She meets reindeer, baby polar bears, and other curious woodland creatures. Discovered by the Winter Fairy, Beatrice is transported to the kingdom of Winter Wonderland. Beatrice is befriended by Jack Frost and delighted by the Peppermint Princess and all the magical characters of Wonderland. Be amazed as the season unfolds and brings all the smiles and fun that come with it. You have never seen a winter quite like this.

Join us in Downtown Campbell for our annual winter festival! The Carol of Lights is a free and family oriented holiday season kick off celebration that's fun for all.

The event features Santa visits, a petting zoo, donkey rides, bounce houses, craft tables, face painting, carolers and music, free festival snacks, community performances, and more. Sometimes we even have snow.

The Carol of Lights is independently produced by the Downtown Campbell Business Association and a dedicated community of volunteers. The event is entirely funded by donations and is only able to continue because it gets support from the community.

You and your family are invited to a breakfast celebration with Santa! The elves will be cooking up some of delicious North Pole Pancakes and Santa will be posing for pictures. The elves have also set-up a workshop with holiday crafts and fun for the children.

Kick off the holiday season at the City’s annual Community Tree Lighting! A local choir will spread joy and a festive spirit through holiday harmonies as we build up to the moment the tree comes alive with hundreds of twinkling lights, filling the air with a magical glow.

After the tree lighting, your family can visit Santa and take photos.

This event takes place outside. Dress warm.

Celebrate the spirit of the season and light-up Main Street’s holiday tree. It’s an evening of fun for all ages. Join us for holiday entertainment, community performances, photos with Santa, hot cocoa, fun activities and more!

Knock knock, who could it be? It's Santa Claus and his little helpers at your door! Santa is taking a break from his holiday preparations and visiting the residents of Cupertino in his decked-out vehicle exclusive to Cupertino! During the visit, Santa will take photos, listen to wish lists, and pass out candy canes and gifts (candy other than candy canes and gifts must be supplied by the family). Families can register online or in-person at the Quinlan Community Center for the program and have Santa, his elf, and the Santamobile make a special outdoor appearance at their homes.

Deaf and hard of hearing children, along with their families, are invited to spend time with a Santa who understands sign language! Santa only communicates using sign language but an interpreter will be on-site to help translate for friends and family.

Christmas in the Park is a community-focused non-profit organization dedicated to the celebration of the holiday season by producing a free Christmas event. Our displays, trees, and entertainment, along with special programs and festivities serve the interests of the community.

This annual holiday tradition takes place in the heart of Downtown San José at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez. For over 44 years, this whimsical walk-thru event has brought people from all over the Bay Area together during the holidays. It is a place of community.

Each year the two-acre park is transformed into a holiday fantasy with over 40 musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights and the 50-foot Community Giving Tree. Some of the original displays housed in one of the largest exhibits, the Lima Train, include a melting snowman, caroling mice and elf woodcrafters. Guests enter a winter wonderland of lights, songs and local entertainment while strolling through an enchanted forest of trees decorated by San José schools, community groups and businesses.

Christmas in the Park is a non-profit organization that is supported through fundraising efforts and is free to the public. Children can have their photograph taken with Santa, watch nightly entertainment and enjoy holiday themed refreshments, all free of charge.

More than 90% of our budget comes from fundraising. We are grateful for the in-kind support from the City of San José.

Drive Thru Light Show Enjoy a fantastic light show programmed to music! Our 2023 drive through experience is guaranteed to create memories for all.
Your ticket purchase helps fund Christmas in the Park, a nonprofit organization.

A fun holiday lights show with music on California Avenue in San Jose's Willow Glen neighborhood

Take joy in sharing your own culture or discovering the traditions of Hanukkah with friends and neighbors in this partnership event with JCC Los Gatos. Make celebratory candles, watch a storytime in Hebrew, Russian, and English, and enjoy songs performed by Yavneh Day School students. Go on a miracle scavenger hunt and savor a traditional Hanukkah treat!

Downtown Ice has been a local tradition since 1994. We are very excited to bring back ice skating produced by Special Ice in partnership with the San Jose Downtown Association.

The rink is located at 120 S. Market Street in the Circle of Palms Plaza, nestled between the San Jose Museum of Art and the Signia by Hilton Hotel.

Our first ever San José Winter Wonder Market debuts on Dec. 16-17, 2023. This is the perfect last-minute winter holiday shopping craft fair. Featuring over 150 of your favorite makers, artists, designers, creators and creative small businesses all within one festive shopsmall experience. A San Jose tradition, the Santa Run Silicon Valley offers a variety of family fun events from a 5K run/walk to a Kids Reindeer Dash. Trolley ride throughout Willow Glen - 30 minutes rides
There is no better place to spend the holidays than Willow Glen! One of the best things about Willow Glen is the festive spirit of the nearby neighborhoods with the traditional yard trees and other fun decorations. Returning to Downtown Willow Glen for the holidays is the fun, old fashioned cable car that you can ride to view the holiday lights!

Location to board the trolley car will be front of Bank of America, 1245 Lincoln Ave. And don't forget there is plenty of FREE public parking available right there in the Bank of America lot, courtesy of the Willow Glen Business Association.

Willow Glen neighborhood, especially on the north side of Bramhall Park, is well known for its holiday light displays and Christmas trees.

On the first Saturday of December, the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting brings families and the community together to launch the holiday season! The holiday tree is brought to light with carolers, choirs, and dance groups performing from local schools and community organizations. Join us this winter for a festive array of lights, photos, performances, and great memories!

Bluebonnet lights is the home of the annual Christmas lighting display located between 955 and 976 Bluebonnet Drive in Sunnyvale, California -right in the heart of Silicon Valley!

The Inspiration for our light show came from a 2006 internet video of a home decorated with christmas lights that flashed in synch with broadcasted music. This was the first Christmas light show synchronized to music we had ever seen and it instantly sparked a creative desire to make our own displays flashy and fun for the Holidays.

Currently, there are 6 Bluebonnet Drive neighbors running their Lights synchronized (wirelessly) with Bluebonnet Lights’ Master Show Player. We have added hundreds of new lights, 3 new songs, and new sequencing. As usual, the music for the dancing lights is broadcasted on 92.9 FM, so you can enjoy the light show from the comfort of your car.

Experience this holiday season on the rails with your family or significant other aboard our annual Santa Trains! Our Museum is transformed with spectacular lights and more family fun! Join us for a magical winter train ride, followed by an indoor lightshow in our Carhouse, where Santa Claus will be waiting to greet each child (or adult) with a festive golden bell to signify the first gift of the Christmas season. Having our festivities indoors allows parents to come during the day and still have the kiddos all tucked in at a reasonable hour.

Holiday light displays on Arlene Drive and Shady Glen Avenue

Join us the Tuesday after Thanksgiving at 5:00 PM for a festive evening full of cheer in Vacaville's downtown at Merriment on Main. Vendors will line Main Street offering free sweets and goodies, and performers and crowd entertainers will captivate even the smallest kiddies. With eager anticipation, the beautifully adorned fifty foot tree will be lit promptly at 6:30 PM. Thousands of event goers will gather to experience the holiday extravaganza with music, lights, and plenty of holiday spirit. This is a free community event offered Friday-Sunday, December 2nd-30th from 4-7pm, at Children's Wonderland (360 Glenn Street). Closed: 12/24, 12/25, and 12/31.

This annual holiday event is free and fun for the entire family. Join GVRD as we ring in the holiday season at Children's Wonderland Park.

Papa Joe and the New Deal will kick off the holiday event hitting the stage at 5pm followed by the tree lighting ceremony beginning promptly at 6:30pm. You don't want to miss out on our food vendors, hot cocoa bar, and a special visit from Santa.

Gather your friends and family, and head to Downtown Petaluma to kick off the holiday season!
Start off your day in downtown Petaluma with breakfast at one of our delicious cafes, then follow with a stroll through the maker's marketplace on Kentucky Street ~ showcasing local vendors and Downtown Businesses selling that perfect holiday gift.
There will be live holiday music from The Pacific Empire Chorus, dancing performances from The Apple Tree Morris Dancers, balloon animals & face painting for the kids. Santa & Mrs. Claus will be joining to take pictures and Christmas lists!
Treat yourself to lunch at an array of excellent downtown restaurants & cafes, and continue to discover the plethora of small independent stores welcoming you with holiday cheer, tasty goodies, and great festive deals for the Holiday Open House!

Charles Dickens' classic gets the full Broadway treatment by the team of Alan Menken (Little Mermaid), Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime). This full musical version follows the beloved story of Scrooge as he's forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present and Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful "Happy Christmas!”

Elf The Musical is a must-see holiday musical based on the 2003 hit film starring Will Ferrell!

One Christmas Eve, a young orphan crawls into Santa’s bag of toys and is unknowingly transported to the North Pole. Buddy the Elf, grows up unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities make him face the truth. With Santa’s blessing, Buddy travels to New York City to discover his true identity and find his birth father. Upon learning that his father is on the naughty list, and that his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy becomes determined to win over his family and help New York rediscover its Christmas spirit.

This box-office-record-breaking musical combines vintage comic style and high-energy contemporary music and delivers jolly holiday entertainment for the whole family!

Celebrate the Holidays in RRSQ! Free Horse & Carriage rides: 11-3pm. The Sonoma Chorus will be bringing seasonal songs to Depot Park and 4th Street from noon to 2pm. Francesca Vrattos, flutist in Depot Park.

Join us in the beautiful courtyard at the famous Snoopy's Home Ice rink for a spectacular Holiday variety show featuring professional figure skaters, dancers and a special guest appearance from the world's most famous Beagle, Snoopy.

Winter Lights is Santa Rosa's destination for season long holiday fun and it all starts with the annual Tree Lighting Celebration in Old Courthouse Square the day after Thanksgiving!

Join the Soroptimist International of Sonoma Valley and Sonoma Valley Volunteer Firefighter Association for a cup of Hot Chocolate as you wait for Santa to arrive at the Historic Sonoma Plaza in an antique fire truck with the help of local firefighters. Santa will light the tree on City Hall and be available for pictures and to listen to children’s wishes for a Merry Christmas.

This weekend, December 2 & 3, the 2023 Holiday Train rings in the start of the holiday season.
Santa and friends start their journey in San Francisco before heading south, stopping at stations along the Caltrain corridor.
