The Office of Head Start (OHS) promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income families through local programs. Head Start and Early Head Start programs support the mental, social, and emotional development of children from birth to age 5.

Alemany is the newest addition to our family of Head Start sites and is located in the Alemany Housing Development at 956 Ellsworth St. The center has one classroom and a beautiful, fenced in play area. This site serves 17 children daily from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 pm, year round. English and Spanish are spoken here. The children receive a healthy breakfast, lunch, and snack.
