It all started with a dare. A dare to dream big and make a difference in our community is how Sparky’s Fun & Joy all began. It was 02/2010 when Ryan asked Salvador if he would consider opening a balloon shop. Salvador, thought he was nuts, “Why would I ever do anything with balloons when my degrees are in Information Technology?” That’s when it happened….. Ryan knew his friend very well and knew he would not pass up an opportunity for a challenge. Ryan dared Salvador to split the expenses for a tank and balloons and sell balloons on Sunday Feb. 14 2010. Of course Salvador took the bait. The next thing you know it was Sunday and both Salvador and Ryan were rolling their laundry cart up to 16th St and Market in San Francisco. The rest is history.
