Alta Vista School is an independent lower and middle school (JK-8) in San Francisco dedicated to progressive, hands-on education grounded in the scientific method. We are a California non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and a member of Independent Schools of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Alta Vista School was founded in 2010 by a group of families inspired by the talent of Head of School Ed Walters and his energetic team in creating learning environments that awaken intellectual curiosity in children.
