Description

Madeleine Maguire is a certified postpartum doula, certified lactation educator counselor, and founder of BabySavvy Co. She launched her San Francisco-based coaching and postpartum doula practice in 2014 to help new moms navigate the fourth trimester, their return to work, and the ups and downs of their babies’ first year.

Madeleine works with expectant parents to prepare both the growing family and their home for their little one's arrival. Madeleine reminds parents-to-be of the importance of outlining a "postpartum care plan," in addition to their birth plan. Baby prep-oriented activities, such as brainstorming resources and mapping out a family's village and care team, foster a supportive transition to parenthood. Upon baby's debut, Madeleine provides in-home support for the new family, with a combination of caregiving, coaching, and education. Her passion lies in empowering first-time parents with tools, resources and encouragement, and watching their confidence grow as they become baby-savvy and feel more comfortable stepping into their new roles.

Prior to completing her training in perinatal health, infant development, coaching, and lactation, Madeleine worked in PR and corporate communications for companies in the health care and clean tech sectors. Madeleine left the corporate world well-informed, with an insider's take on the cultures at both start-ups and larger firms -- including the demands they place on new families. A background in both business and health care allows Madeleine to provide informed support as parents face obstacles in trying to balance work, personal identity, marriage, and baby.

Madeleine currently resides in the Marina District of San Francisco, where she enjoys practicing yoga, exploring the Bay Area’s hidden gems, and frequenting the Fort Mason Farmer’s Market. She graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.A. in Communication.
