A Child’s World Montessori School, which is today The Renaissance International School was founded in 1992 in Oakland, California. The mission of the school is to provide children with an international and multidisciplinary experience in which they can achieve their highest potential.

Since the school’s founding it has been based on the philosophies of Maria Montessori and Zoltán Kodály and is a warm, supportive community of students, families and teachers committed to a quality education. We have an enrollment of 170 students, from ages 2 through middle school.
Both our faculty and student body make up an international community with more than 30 different countries and nearly every ethnic group and major world religion represented.
