Welcome to Sequoia Preschool and Kindergarten!

We are a private, non-profit preschool, serving children from 3 to 6 years of age. Our staff is composed of dedicated teachers, who daily encourage and challenge each child to do their best in a loving and nurturing environment.

It is our belief that children learn through play; therefore we strive to provide a curriculum that is play based while still meeting academic, social/emotional, and physical growth goals. We have created a semi-structured curriculum that allows us to do this. Throughout our day we teach to the whole child, we provide cognitive learning experiences that include reading and math readiness, language arts, science and an awareness of the world. A typical day includes: art, music and movement, small group activities, snack and outdoor playtime to allow your child to develop and gain the skills needed to be ready for kindergarten and beyond.

One of the unique features of our school is the music program. Your child will sing along to our piano (played by one of our own teachers) daily, and will not only learn many new songs, but will also gain confidence by participating in one of our several performances.

Throughout the year we provide many additional learning enhancements for the children to explore their world around them, including field trips, yoga, guest educational programs, enrichment days, lunch buddies, holiday programs, and the 4th day session.

Community is important to all of us at Sequoia and we try to provide an opportunity for parents to get involved with the school, each other and make lifelong friends.
