The Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD) Early Childhood Education Department provides preschool programs that nurture young children’s physical, cognitive, social and emotional development, as well as develop kindergarten school readiness skills, empower families and respect the cultural and linguistic diversity and unique characteristics of our families. We are one of the state subsidized programs in Alameda County. We determine eligibility based on factors determined by the State including: income, family size and other needs.
