Our Preschool, Our Community

Las Semillitas Cooperative is a group of bilingual Spanish/English speaking families working together in the creation of a unique preschool. Parents are involved in everything from school administration to sharing time in the classroom along with the head teacher. Our preschool environment aims to maintain and reinforce our children’s Spanish home language and create a school where parents and children experience collective participation, ecological responsibility, holistic health, and progressive social consciousness.

Our Program

Our small class of 15 preschoolers, led by our excellent and experienced bilingual Montessori teacher, Ada Rosas, is designed to offer a multi-sensory learning environment that allows for individual growth while creating an empathetic community that enables children to work out conflicts and develop strong relationships with peers and adults. Our lead and assistant teachers have completed coursework in early childhood education, in addition to their undergraduate degrees. Parents participate in the class assisting the teachers with daily activities and school administration. Class times are 9:00 am – 1:30 pm Monday through Friday, with flexible extended care schedules available until 5:30 pm.
